As a part our B. Ed curriculum we visited Ashraya kalayapuram on 8 th december 2023. There were around hundred people are there, mostly old women's are there. We reached there at 9:30 am. We spent there around 3:00 pm and done several cultural program for their entertainment.

It was a memorable day. We were given so many things for the people for their daily uses. They were provided lunch for us. We collected a small amount and given to their fund.

Ashraya and associated institutions all over Kerala are becoming a refuge to the thousands of homeless, abandoned, mentally retarded and deranged, orphans and elderly. The last eighteen years since its inception in 1994 witnessed the humble growth of the institution. Ashraya now has seven rehabilitation units all over the state of Kerala. The major among those is Sanketham at Kalayapuram, Kottarakkara where almost thousands residents are being taken care of by a dedicated team led by Kalayapuram Jose .
